Vista Log :P

I have decided, that over the course of the next few weeks (at least), I will keep a daily log of my experiences with the new and young, Windows Vista. I've decided this because of my recent success with it, let me elaborate.

May 21st was my birthday, and for this year, I got my new computer up and running, my current spces are: Corsair 650 W PSU, A8N-SLI SE, 8800GT, 1 GB Kingston RAM, Plextor DVD RW DL, Athlon 3800 X2 2 Ghz, Storage: 690 GB. This system is better than anything I've had before :)

Now, I first installed XP on it, when I tried to play any recent game, the thing would BSOD, this happened 9 times in a day.

I finally took a crack at Vista, I installed it, and my graphics driver, sound worked out of the box, I installed Crysis, started it, and played for three hours, eventually exiting myself. And now it's been up for 24 hours straight and still no BSOD or ANY real error. When I tried Vista on my laptop, it really sucked, but it's amazing what a better video card, and a bit more RAM can do for Vista. So anyway, like I said, over the next bit, I'll be logging my experiences, successes, and problems with Windows Vista. I might do 10 posts in a day, I might do one, but I shall try to do a post every day. I'll be highlighting the games I'm playing, the software I'm using, and the upgrades I give my PC over the next bit. My first will be more RAM :)

Here is what my desktop looks like now:

My internets.

You know, there was a time when having a 56K modem was nice - a pleasure even, but not now, right now it's just another way of saying you_still_don't_have_broadband.

Take me for instance, I have satellite internet (sigh), now while this isn't a 56k modem, it's pretty damn close. I average at getting speeds of 15 KBPS, and I have a fap limit of 50 MB / Hr. This is just ridiculous.

And then I go to school and do a speed test which hits 35 MBPS. That just makes me sad. Here my internet connection is more advanced than that of my school's, yet it's a bajillion times slower.
Oh, and did I mention that they nearly ban BitTorrent?

Here's what I have to deal with:

A standard 100 MB download takes about 1.5 Hrs to finish.
FaceBook loads in a staggering 5 minutes.
That image took 20 seconds to upload.
